Cadenza

Cadenza is a MIDI sequencer program which I wrote in the early 90s. There were actually two versions of it. The first one was for DOS which was released in January of 1990. Two years later I released a second one for Windows. Cadenza received many positive reviews and it was quite successful, especially in the U.K..

I was never really able to devote the time needed to make Cadenza a continuing success. I wrote both of the programs in my spare time while I held a fulltime job. Cadenza was distributed by Big Noise Software in Jacksonville, FL.; a small company that has long since disappeared. Even by today's standards, Cadenza is a respectible program in terms of features. One of the final features of Cadenza which was not mentioned on the reviews is the score window. This window allowed users to view and edit midi data using the standard music notion. Hovever, it was missing what I considered the most exciting feature of any modern sequencer, and that is the ability to record digital audio.

I am still very proud of Cadenza and will always look upon it as one of the most exciting projects of my life. Below are some of the comments from magazines that reviewed Cadenza and links to the articles. Please check them out.
